Health and education cards were issued to 3.66 lakh primary and upper primary students last year and 74,055 primary and upper primary school children this year.
District Collector S.A.M. Rizvi at a meeting with Rajiv Vidya Mission Officials here on Wednesday said that primary and upper primary children of government and aided schools were all covered under the Jawahar Arogya Raksha (JAR) Scheme.
Asking the officials to identify and encourage enthusiastic teachers, the Collector said that the teachers should also take care of the students' health because the performance of healthy students was better than that of students who miss school often due to ill-health.
Education details
The Collector said health and education details of students in 2,191 out of 3,491 schools were gathered and tabulated last year and 3,073 out of 3,397 students were gathered and tabulated this year.
He said polio drops would be administered to children at 1,971 centres in rural areas, 589 centres in urban areas and through mobile centres on February 19.
