The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has said that it would burn the effigy of Secondary Education Minister K. Parthasarathy at Vuyyuru.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, former MLC Y.V.B Rajendra Prasad said that the police foiled the attempts of the TDP workers to burn effigy of Vuyyuru on Thursday. The police worked at the behest of Minister's orders, and created problems to the TDP workers.

The police did not intervene when the Congress leaders burnt effigy of TDP leader Kodela sivaprasada Rao. It is sheer double standards by the police, he said, adding that the TDP strongly condemn it.

“If Mr. Parathasarathy is sincere as he boasts of, why did he pay the penalty levied by the court? The people are not ready to listen to his stories. If the Minister is sincere, he should resign and tell the people why he paid the penalty,” the Telugu Desam Party leader said.

Mylavaram MLA and Telugu Desam Party district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Telugu Desam Party State secretary Gottipati Ramakrishna Prasad also spoke.
