TDP stages protest on local problems

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) urban unit has staged a nirasana (one day protest programme) to highlight the problems in Vijayawada (Central) constituency in the city.

The TDP state General Secretary Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, urban president Vamsi and others sat on a day's hunger strike. They pointed out that the city remained underdeveloped during last seven year rule of the Congress.

The problems in central constituency were unattended to. The TDP has identified nine major issues that were not resolved so far. The problems include: junior college, flyover, completion of bridge at Madhura Nagar, registration of houses allotted to weaker sections, and sanctioning of houses to all BPL families, he said.
