Finally, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s Vastunna Meekosam padayatra has entered the city. The TDP Urban unit has accorded a rousing welcome to Mr. Naidu in Vijayawada on Saturday. Minority youth wearing white crochet caps took out motorcycle rally, and people offered traditional welcome. The TDP president reached Ratham Centre on Canal Road at around 9 p.m. though he was scheduled to be reach there in the evening.

Addressing the gatherings at various places in the city, the TDP leader lambasted the Congress government. The lopsided policies of the government have hit the local bodies badly. The government has not released the dues to Vijayawada Municipal Corporation. The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) is unable to pay salaries to employees also. It was shame on the part of the government to claim that the TDP supported it in cooperative societies’ elections. He said there was horse trading in the elections.

Earlier, he interacted with students of NRI Academy on the outskirts of the city. When a student asked about Samaikyandhra, he said: “It is not in my hands.” Taking the discussion another student questioned on Telagnana state. Reacting to it, Mr. Naidu said, “Let’s not discuss it. This is not right time and forum.” To a question on education of OCs, he said his government would provide reservations to forward caste also, he said.

The TDP would extend fee reimbursement and scholarships to every student. The government would provide job or employment to every educated person.

The government would provide unemployment pension based on the educational qualifications until he or she got a job, he added. Mylavaram MLA and TDP district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, TDP urban president Vallabhaneni Vamsi, TDP leaders Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Kesineni Srinivas, Panchumarthi Anurdha and others were present.
