The Telugu Desam Party government, during its 100 days at office, has done nothing except for making tall claims and false promises, former PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana said here on Monday.

The crop and DWCRA loan waiver were prominently mentioned in the party’s poll manifesto and Mr. Naidu had assured to clear crop loan waiver file on priority, he said, adding that all such promises were yet to materialise.

Nearly Rs.85,000 crore is required for crop loan waiver but the government did not sanction enough funds, leaving the farmers in the lurch, he alleged. The government was not committed to fulfilling these promises and was making excuses citing the Kotaiah Committee recommendations and RBI guidelines. “In fact, the government is asking farmers to pay their loans and get reimbursement from the government later,” Mr. Botsa charged.

This apart, the government has taken the people for a ride by making false promises about developing smart cities, taking up infrastructure projects, mega cities, at a time when it was reeling with a financial deficit of Rs.16,000 crore, he said and charged that Mr. Naidu had spent Rs.30 crore on a bullet proof facility for his chambers in Hyderabad.

As per the A.P. Reorganisation Act, he said, the State was sanctioned different institutions, special status, financial aid for building capital, package for development of North Coastal and Rayalaseema regions. “It would be wise, if Mr. Naidu takes up these aspects with the Centre, than making promises, which are practically impossible,” he said at a press conference.

Setting aside the promises made to people, the TDP government was focusing on facilitating corporate companies and real estate business, he said.
