The Telugu Desam Party has dubbed Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal as Samaikyandhra dhrohi (betrayer). Mylavaram MLA and TDP district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao alleged that the MP was using the Samaikyandhra agitation for his vested interests.

Mr. Rajagopal took a loan of Rs.7,500 crore through corporate debt restructuring (CDR) cell soon after the Congress Working Committee (CWC) made a statement on Telangana.

The Central Government also made allocations through Tasra coal mine to Lanco Infotech and Congress leaders and ministers like Sushil Kumar Shinde and Kamalnath helped in these matters, he alleged, adding, “Mr. Rajagopal used to say that he has ‘brahmastras’ to keep the State united. In reality, he made use of the agitation for his business development, the TDP leader alleged.

The MP followers and the police attacked the auto workers. The unsolicited turn up of the MP at the protest camp has irked the agitating workers. They wanted the government to keep the State united, and asked the MP to leave the place. Mr. Rajagopal’s followers attacked the workers, he alleged.

TDP Urban president K. Nagul Meera, Vijayawada (Central) in charge Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Vijayawada (West) in charge Buddha Venkanna, State secretary Gottipati Ramakrishna Prasad, and district president Garimella Nanaiah were present.
