The TDP has sounded the election bugle at its ‘Vijayasankharavam’ in the city on Sunday.

Exuding confidence that the party would post victory in the general elections, party leaders urged the cadre to strive hard for the same.

Addressing the gathering, TDP leaders, including MP Sujana Chowdary, who is also election campaign committee coordinator, said that the party would come back to power.

Launching a diatribe against YSR Congress leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, Mr. Chowdary said that Mr. Jagan was hand-in-glove with the Congress.

Mr. Jagan wore a mask of integrationist. But, he was in favour of division of the State and extended full support to the Congress-led UPA government in dividing the Telugus, he said.

Stating that the political atmosphere was in favour of the TDP, Machilipatnam MP K. Narayana Rao exhorted the party workers to work hard and ensure that the party bagged all the three Assembly constituencies in the city.

Referring to bifurcation of the State, Mr. Rao said the TDP MPs were doing their best to stall the process.

Mylavaram MLA and TDP district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said the TDP would construct a flyover at Durga temple and super-specialty hospital immediately on coming to power.

TDP Vijayawada Parliamentary constituency in-charge Kesineni Srinivas (Nani), Vijayawada (Central) in-charge Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Pamarru in-charge Varla Ramaiah, former MLC Y.V.B. Rajendra Prasad, and TDP Urban president Buddha Venkanna spoke.
