Taxpayers’ assn. supports bandh

Tax Payers Association president Sambi Reddy on Sunday supported the bandh call given by the opposition parties demanding SCS to Andhra Pradesh. In a release, he said though the BJP included the issue in its election manifesto, it backtracked when it came to implementation. “It is sad that the Chief Minister is belittling the bandh call give by the opposition parties,,” Mr. Sambi Reddy said. “Had TDP been serious, it would have endorsed the Bill introduced by K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao,” he said.

Engineering colleges closed today

Engineering colleges in the State will remain closed on Monday following a bandh call given by members of the Andhra Pradesh Private Engineering Colleges’ Managements’ Association. It is in support of its demand that the Centre grant SCS to protect the interests of the student community.
