The Tata Pigments Limited for the first time launched its ‘decorative products' in southern markets and they chose Vijayawada to launch them through the Surya Decorative Products at a formal ceremony on Wednesday.
The Tata Pigments Limited general manager (Marketing and Sales) said they had begun selling water-based paints and decorative products since 2001 in the East and North India, but decided to venture out into the South only this year. The company was a niche player in the Eastern Market, but only a small player in the segment and targeted only the rural and semi-urban areas.
Laila Group chairman Gokaraju Gangaraju formally handed over the first pack to Surya Decorative Products proprietor Lakshmi Narayana and said that it was the trust and moral strength of the Tata that helps them sell their products. Mr. Narayana Rao said it was not the volumes and competition with others for which he had taken the dealership of Tatas, but the confidence in quality of Tata products, he added.
