Syndicate Bank targets higher business

The Syndicate Bank has set a target to do a business of Rs.3,50,00,000 crore in the ensuing fiscal and open an additional 3,000 branches, said bank's senior manager L. Sreerama Murthy.

In a power point presentation as part of a Customers' Meet conducted by the bank on Wednesday, Mr. Murthy said people must make use of the new facilities being extended by the bank.

Chief Manager C. Santhosha Rao presided over the meeting. He said in the current year, the bank had done a business of Rs.180 crore, recording a profit of Rs.5 crore.

He said the NPA level had reduced to three per cent and the bank was ready to extend its credit base in the coming years.

Thrust areas

The thrust areas would be MSME, housing and other personal banking schemes, he added. Gold loans at competitive interest rate would be yet another area of focus, he said.

Assistant Manager Mrutyunjay, Marketing officer Neeraj, and credit officer Y. Subba Rao were present.
