Good news for Vijayawada music lovers, for they will witness a grand felicitation to melody queen P. Suseela on the Government Music College premises at Satyanarayanapuram on Tuesday.
Three cultural outfits — Somanadha Cultural Arts, Desika Cultural Arts and Swaramadhuri Cultural Association — will jointly honour the star singer, in which several luminaries such as Turlapati Kutumba Rao, Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce President V. Bhaskar Rao, industrialist Koganti Satyam and music director Madhavapeddi Suresh will take part.
“We are honouring the legendary singer for making it to the Guinness Book of Records for singing 17,695 songs in 12 languages. She also made her entry into Asian Book of Records,” said Mr. Bolisetty Radhakrishna, an organiser.
He said Ms. Suseela will arrive from Chennai by flight on Tuesday evening and would head towards former Mayor Jandhyala Sankar’s house. From there she will come to the venue,” he added.
The three-hour long programme will witness a music treat by local artistes who would croon songs rendered by Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao and melody queen. “She (Ms. Suseela) may not sing many songs. She may sing just one song or a stanza on public demand,” says Mr. Radha Krishna.
