The five-day annual summer camp for youth between the age group of 16 and 25 years began at the Chinmaya Mission Activity Centre (Chinmaya Swarna Prabha) here on Wednesday. While last year’s camp was named ‘Vijaya Ratham’, organisers have gone for a trendy name this year: ‘Vibrations’.

Swami Prathameshananda, head of Chinmaya Mission in the city, inaugurated the camp, which is organised by Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (Chyk), the youth wing of the mission.

The camp is held from 8 a.m. to 12 noon everyday. Addressing participants on the first day of the camp, Chyk coordinator V. Nagalakshmi said the objective of the camp was to help youngsters enhance their concentration by training them in meditation.

“Participants were made to take part in games and other interesting activities to develop the right attitude, acquire the right knowledge and make the right decisions in life and while facing a crisis in particular,” Ms. Nagalakshmi said.

The games are designed to improve one’s memory power too, she said. Call 9640227200 for details.
