Students vied with one another in a competitive spirit at ‘MVR Fest 2K11' organised by the MVR College of Engineering and Technology here on Friday.
The grand techno gala marked enthusiastic participation by the students, who showed their abilities and capabilities in varied aspects of technical expertise.
Dynamic events were organised for the participants with the college management giving encouraging prizes to the winners. There were events like paper presentation, technical quiz, model exhibition, coding and decoding, young manager and market makers.
Addressing the inaugural function as chief guest, BSNL Senior General Manager M. John Chrisostom said that all great leaders were great learners who were always ready to adapt to any change whatsoever in the process of developing their abilities. “This is why the young ones should be very careful in this respect. They should be ever keen to see and understand emerging changes and adapt to them for their future success,” he observed.
College Chairman Muthavarapu Srinivas Babu, Principal K.V. Sambasiva Rao, head of the department of ECE M. Srinivas and others were present on the occasion.
Narrating the story of who would win the hand of a king's daughter in a contest, Prof. Sambasiva Rao said that it was practical intelligence and sincere efforts that could bring success like in the story. Young people from India were reaping success all over the world only because of their learning capabilities and the urge for acquiring all the relevant skills.
The speakers said that in the present day technology-intensive era, change was the only constant and there was change happening at an accelerated pace with each passing year. Hence, students should make learning a constant habit because education would not stop with their college days.
