VIBGYOR, an art exhibition by final year students of Kadapa-based Yogi Vemana University was inaugurated by Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad at the Cultural Center of Vijayawada and Amaravathi here on Friday.

The artworks and sculptures of K. Rajamohan Reddy, B. Earappa, M. Bhargavi, K. Prem Kumar, K. Noorullah, B.V. Pragna and P. Gayathri, were on display.

Dr. Prasad hailed the creative instincts of the artists and felt that the department will get national recognition for the works. K. Mrutyunjaya Rao, Assistant Professor of Fine Arts, told that with this show his students were entering the art field as the full-time professionals.

The paintings of M. Bhargavi were a symphony of butterflies while B. Erappa works revealed the man’s inner emotions entwined with yogic and symbolic aspects of religious beliefs. K. Noorullah works’ highlighted the rural areas of Rayalaseema and his passion for the goats was interesting. K. Rajamohan Reddy used his childhood play object “paper rocket” as an element that highlight several contemporary issues.

Prakash Rao, Senior Manager, AP Skill Development Corporation, Sandeep Mandava, CEO, Malaxmi Property Ventures Limited, E. Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, Cultural Center of Vijayawada and Amaravati, faculty members Santosh, Venkatesh and E. Sujatha, representatives of Vijayawada Art Society, local artists, art lovers and students participated in the programme.
