Strive to build a strong nation, youth told

Municipal Commissioner K. Sudhakar unfurled the national flag at Guntur Municipal Corporation office here on Wednesday as employees of the GMC celebrated the 66th Independence Day in a grand manner.

Later, a meeting was held at Gandhi Park in which Guntur East MLA Sk. Mastan Vali addressed the gathering. Heaping lavish praise on martyrs, he called upon the youth to build a nation which would provide equal opportunities to all sections of society.

Additional Commissioner P. Srinivasulu was present.

At Customs office

Independence Day celebrations were held at the Customs and Central Excise office. Commissioner C.P. Rao unfurled the national flag and said that Central Excise personnel had been playing a key role in the development of the country.

Joint Commissioner Dinesh Chakravarthy and Additional Commissioner Chand Basha were present.
