Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Ananth Kumar and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) at Surampalli, near Gannavaram, on April 22. The total project cost is Rs. 50.73 crore, which is equally shared by the Central and State governments. The Central institute will come up in an area of 12.04 acres.
CIPET, according to an official release, is dedicated to Skill Development, Technology Support Services, Academic and Research (STAR) in all the domains of plastics engineering and technology, which include design, CAD/CAM/CAE, tooling, processing and testing and quality control aimed at the growth of plastics and allied industries in the country.
CIPET had started training activities on the premises of Vijayawada Auto Cluster Development Company in 2015 and it will be a full-fledged institution once the building and related infrastructure take shape.
It will be particularly helpful for the growth of plastics industries in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry Kakinada, Guntur, Renigunta etc.
Electronics cluster
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will lay the foundation stone for India’s largest electronics manufacturing cluster, ELCINA Raaga Mayuri Electronics Park, at Chilamathur in Hindupur Assembly constituency of Anantapur district on the Bengaluru National Highway, on Thursday.
The project is being developed in collaboration with Electronic Industries Association of India ELCINA, the 50-acre industrial park is being developed by Raaga Mayuri Builders, a firm with 25 years of experience in the construction sector, under the aegis of KJR Group.
With Bengaluru being the biggest electronics hub in the country, the new facility is coming up close to it to attract new industries in this region.
