The Global Campaign Against Poverty (GCAP) movement, in association with the Forum For Child Rights Andhra Pradesh, is conducting a three-day campaign ‘Stand up take action against poverty’ across the State from Friday.

With the support of Navajeevan Bal Bhavan in the city, the Child Rights Advocacy Foundation and the Forum For Child Rights together have designed 1,000 posters and 5,000 pamphlets on issues like girl child, hunger and domestic violence in the city. The poster and pamphlet would be released by the city dignities at the Press Club. The posters would be displayed around the city and the pamphlets would be distributed at bus stand and railway station for the public awareness.

As many as 34 NGOs in 60 village communities, and approximately 2,000 children would be involved in round-the-clock activities like rallies, discussions, workshops and food distributions and so on. About 2,000 children from about 68 children’s parliaments would meet sarpanches and submit memorandums, seeking passing of the Food Security Act to combat hunger, malnutrition and related issues and for implementation of Supreme Court orders.
