Disburses loans amounting to Rs. 80 lakh
Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar said the Government was making efforts to help Self Help Groups (SHG) members and exhorted them to properly utilise funding given in the form of bank linkage.
Addressing SHG members after distributing loans amounting to Rs. 80 lakh under ‘Pavala vaddi’ scheme here on Wednesday, Mr. Manohar said the SHG would do well to set up micro industries to reach the next level of growth and create employment.
SHG have been acknowledged as a viable means to promote families up the socio-economic ladder, which is the reason why every woman should join them and play a catalytic role in the growth of society.
Mr. Manohar said the protected drinking water scheme coming up in the town would permanently solve the scarcity problem being faced by people in many areas.
An underground drainage scheme costing Rs. 30 crore has been sanctioned for the municipality.
It would improve sanitation in the town.
In-charge municipal commissioner Prabhakar Rao, and Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) project director Poorna Chandrika were among those present.
