The TDP has taken exception to the State Cabinet rejecting the CBI plea to prosecute Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, party MLA Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu said the Minister was accused and charge-sheeted in the Vanpic Port land scandal. There is evidence of malfeasance in the irregular and improper land deals in the Vanpic case.

The government, however, was shielding the six Ministers and eight IAS officers who issued 26 GOs benefiting Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. The government was dillydallying on the Supreme Court directions also, he alleged.

Stating that the YSR Congress leaders were levelling allegations against party president N. Chandrababu Naidu that he was a factionist, the TDP leader said: “I request them to recall the history of Raja Reddy and Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Needless to say about Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy’s history.”

TDP leader Paritala Ravindra was shot dead even as the police were looking on. Moddu Srinu, prime accused in Ravindra’s murder, was also killed in jail fearing he would turn approver, he pointed out.

The TDP had no necessity to have any understanding with the Congress.

In fact, it was YSR Congress that had entered into a tacit understanding with the Congress, he alleged.

TDP Urban president Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Vijayawada (Central) incharge Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Urban general secretary Songa Ravindra Varma, Telugu Rythu district president Chalasani Anjaneyulu, and urban official spokesperson Yerneni Vedavyas were present.
