The stage is set for ‘Teppotsavam' on a decorated ‘Hamsavahanam’ (special boat built in the shape of a mythical Hamsa), for taking the Utsav Vigrahams (processional deities) of goddess Durga and lord Mallikarjuna Swamy for ‘Nadi Viharam' (celestial boat ride) on the river Krishna on the occasion of Vijayadasami on Wednesday.

Sri Durga Malleswara Swamivarla Devastanam temple priests adorn the goddess as ‘Rajarajeswari Devi'.

Besides the regular vedic rituals, ‘Purnahuthi' will be performed in the temple in the afternoon on Vijayadasami.

Dasara Navaratri celebrations at Kanakadurga temple on Indrakeeladri will conclude with a colourful ‘Teppotsavam’ on the River Krishna.

Thousands of devotees swarm Prakasam Barrage and the bathing ghat to have a glimpse of the once-a-year event.

Amidst chanting of ‘Bhavani Mataki Jai’ by thousands of devotees, the ‘Utsava Vigraham' of the goddess is taken out to Durga Ghat and installed in ‘Hamsa Vahanam’. The dark sky of the evening turns bright and colourful with fireworks on the riverbed near Sitanagaram in Guntur district.
