Stage set for PG medical counselling

Counters being set up to carry out admission process

April 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:58 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

With the first phase of P.G medical counselling just two days away, the NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) is making necessary arrangements on its premises here with due focus on deputing staff for verification of certificates and listing out the options available for them.

Counters are being set up to carry out the process of admissions and the police were asked to provide security in the vicinity of NTRUHS to prevent any untoward incident.

More importantly, the authorities of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have found no anomaly in the seat matrix.

Vice-Chancellor T. Ravi Raju, Registrar S. Babulal and other top officials of NTRUHS took stock of the arrangements in a meeting held on Monday.

They exuded confidence that the counselling would be a smooth affair having found the seat matrix to be in order.

Directors of Medical Education of A..P. and Telangana have ensured well in advance that the seat matrix was in compliance with the pattern that was stipulated under G.O Ms No. 43 issued on March 13, 2013.

A top official of NTRUHS looking after the counselling told The Hindu that there was no change in reservation for candidates belonging to Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes of both States as admission process is common for the current academic year (2015-16).

Seats, if any, not claimed in the first phase of counselling, would be rolled over to the next phase. Candidates have been advised to visit the NTRUHS website for details of the formalities they are supposed to complete during counselling, particularly the certificates to be submitted in original.

The same processes that were under implementation in the combined State are being followed this year as there is no change in administration with NTRUHS staying at the helm of affairs for both States.
