Krishna Collector Babu. A asked the officials to be vigilant throughout the conduct of elections to Krishna-Guntur teachers’ constituency, slated for March 22, to prevent untoward incident and to bar entry of unauthorised persons into polling stations.
The Collector, in a press release, stated that eligible persons who do not possess Electors’ Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) could produce any of the nine identity proofs to exercise their franchise. Around 18,950 voters will take part in the polls.
Web casting control rooms were set up at the Sub-Collector’s office in Vijayawada and the Collector’s office at Machilipatnam.
On Saturday, Mr. Babu reviewed the arrangements for the elections . He also reviewed security bandobust and Internet connections for networking of the polling stations and online monitoring. Rajahmundry Special Correspondent adds: East Godavari Sub-Collector V. Vijayaramaraju said that the election to teachers’ constituency in Legislative Council of East and West Godavari districts will be held on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and all arrangements had been completed.
He said that 10 polling centres were set up in Rajahmundry revenue division.
