The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) squarely blamed Congress president Sonia Gandhi for the ruckus in Parliament and scheming that went into introduction of AP Reorganisation Bill in a deceptive manner.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, TDP State secretary Gottipati Ramakrishna Prasad said Ms. Gandhi had created a rift among Telugus replicating the same tactics that were used in Kashmir and Punjab. She was behaving like a Hitler without paying attention to the concerns of Seemandhra people and issues such as the common capital, he said, adding, "Ms. Gandhi acted like Italy mafia and a street rowdy. We will not allow her to step in Seemandhra."
The TDP leader condemned Union Minister Kamalnath’s comments that TDP MP Modugula Venugopal Reddy carried a knife in Parliament.
The TDP strongly condemned the way in which the Bill was presented in Parliament.
The Congress president left no stone unturned to introduce the Bill. She did not pay attention to advice of Opposition to address the issues raised by Seemandhra people. Finally, the Bill was introduced in a deceptive way. Ms. Gandhi should be held responsible for crisis, din in Parliament and for the pushing and jostling that ensued among the MPs, he added.
