All the top leaders of parties should participate in the satyagraha: Kolanukonda Sivaji
The Krishna district Samaikhyandhra Political JAC steering committee has called for ‘mass satyagraha’ in front of the Sub-Collector’s office on August 11, the day before the deadline given by the NGOs.
JAC convener Kolanukonda Sivaji, in a press release, said the all-party steering committee which met on Wednesday decided that all the top leaders of the respective parties should participate in the ‘mass satyagraha’.
The steering committee invited all the unions and associations participating in the movement to take part.
Mr. Sivaji appealed to all individuals and groups to express their solidarity with the movement.
Steering committee members - Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, V.V. Krishna Rao, Naraharisetti Narasimha Rao, Adapa Nagendram, Meesala Rajeswara Rao, Akula Srinivas Kumar, Tadi Sakuntala, Gunde Sunderpal, Dr. Viswam, Gundepu Chandrasekhar, and Gundu Sinu - participated in the meeting and prepared the action plan.
The YSR Congress will organise a ‘vanta varpu’ programme on National Highway 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. near Ibrahimpatnam as part of the ongoing Samikhyandhra agitation on Thursday.
Disclosing this to the media here on Wednesday, former MLA from Pedana Jogi Ramesh said, “We shall continue the agitation till the Central government reverses its decision on bifurcation of the State.”
Criticising the resignation move of a number of Congress and TDP MLAs and MPs, he said the resignation was a big sham. “Let them get their resignation accepted by the Speaker and then come to the public. It is a move to misguide the people,” he added.
Taking a dig at TDP Rajya Sabha members C.M. Ramesh, Sujana Chowdary, and Harikrishna, he questioned, “What were they doing when the TDP Polit Bureau endorsed the document on bifurcation of the State. They should have raised objection then only, instead of playing the drama now.”
According to him, both the TDP and Congress had an understanding and there was an element of deceit in the entire episode.
“While we are still fighting to keep the State united, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu is already talking of Rs. 4 lakh crore for building a new capital. He has vested interest in it,” the MLA alleged.
The YSRC leader, however, was not able to give a clear answer when asked why Y.S. Vijayamma and party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy did not resign.
Earlier in the day, former MLA and YSRC leader Adusumilli Jayaprakash said that Gujarat Chief Minister’s visit to Hyderabad should be obstructed by the Samaikhyandhra supporters as the BJP had a big role in breaking up the State.
He also said that the Congress had no moral right to criticise the desecration of statues of its leaders as it was a silent spectator when Telangana protagonists vandalised the statues of leaders from the Andhra region on the Tank Bund.
