Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu turned a bit spiritual on Thursday and spoke about the positive impact of yoga and meditation on thinking and approach.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the three-day crash course for Andhra Pradesh Ministers, IAS, IPS, IFS and other senior officers on “ Inner Engineering - for joyful living” being organised by Isha Foundation at the instance of the Chief Minister, he said “we need spiritual classes to stay relaxed and learn to live happily”.

He said that this was the first time that a State Government was trying to incorporate yoga and meditation into its schedule. He thanked Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev for giving opportunity to go through ‘this spiritual journey”.

Observing that yoga and meditation had a positive effect on “Our thinking and approach”, he said that performance and productivity would increase if a person was happy. “We need that in our lives”, he added.

Emphasising on the need for shunning worries and leading a stress-free life, Mr. Naidu expressed confidence that the three-day training would give officers a clarity of thought and enable them to deal with stressful situations in a calm manner.

The sessions include preparatory asanas, breathing exercises, exploration of tools for inner balance and joy and tools for translating inner well-being to external effectiveness.
