In an engrossing on-court tussle, Shufflers defeated Royals in two straight games 25-19, 25-17 in the final to lift the volleyball title in a tournament conducted among the members of Vijayawada Club on Tuesday night.
For Shufflers players like Prasanth, Yerneni Govind, Natty Singh, Balaji and Jagan came out with all-round performances while for Royals, Paladugu Venu, Sankar and Ashish exhibited deft on-court craft. “The tourney was conducted as part of the Dasara festivities,” said Vijayawada Club president V. Ramana Murthy, during the prize distribution function.
Vice-president Boppana Nageswara Rao, secretary Venkata Ratnam, core-committee members Grandhi Viswanath, Butchi Babu and others were present.
