Sharpen skills, Sub-Collector tells students

Students must enhance their employability skills and be industry-ready by the time they enter the job market, said Sub-Collector D. Harichandana, here on Friday.

Addressing students of Westin College of Hotel Management as part of Westin Success Meet organised to applaud 179 students who secured placements in five-star hotels in offshore lands through campus recruitment.

Communication skills.

Ms. Harichandana said students opting for a career in hotel industry must focus on their communication skills. They have vast scope in fields such as tourism and travel, airports, hotels, logistics and retail sector.

Principal P. Chandrasekhar said, of the 179 selected, 79 of them were placed in Dubai, 32 in Kuwait, 30 in Abudabi, 18 in Bahrain and two in Doha.

Director K. Durga Prasad, training coordinator Naveen and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
