District Collector S. Suresh Kumar, who has completed one year in office, says that he is keen on improving the efficiency of services and bring in accountability and transparency in the administration.
Mr. Suresh Kumar took charge in July last year in the district, known not only for its unwieldy size but also for its diversity.
He immediately set upon himself the task of revitalizing the administrative set up in the district with a vigour. In the same breath, he launched innovative programmes leveraging IT in the field of Education and Health.
The district bagged two Silver Awards presented in the e-governance category and for successfully implementing “Sampoorna Vidya Darshini,’’ an online student/teacher quality assessment project.
He introduced the services of mid-day allocations and licenses for rice dealers in the list of Meeseva services.
The grievance redressal programme was made more effective after the grievances were computerized and a tracking system was put in place.
The Collector revived “Prajavani,’’ a grievance mechanism software designed by the NIC.
He also introduced ‘Parishkaram,’- an online petition grievance programme to register public grievance in a fair and transparent manner. ``People come from distant places hoping to get their grievances resolved. I meet them every week and address their problems,’’ Mr. Suresh Kumar said.
