As many as 900 police personnel will oversee security arrangements for Rathasaptami on Wednesday, which is also called Surya Jayanti, at Arasavalli, the abode of Lord Suryanarayana, according to Srikakulam Collector K. Dhananjaya Reddy and SP Trivikram Varma.
Around 35 CC cameras would be used to monitor the movement of devotees, expected to cross 2 lakh. The officials said that the CC cameras would help them take steps quickly in case of any emergency in the queue lines. All the vehicles have to be parked on the 80-feet road. Earlier, bikes were allowed till the Market Committee premises. However, more traffic curbs have been imposed this year to avoid traffic jams between Indira Vignan Bhavan and Arasavalli temple.
People who donated more than ₹1 lakh were given special passes.
Regular passes have been cancelled. However, a team of officials will allow VIPs as per the protocol.
The temple has been decked out with a variety of flowers for the occasion.
