A special school for child labourers was inaugurated by the National Child Labour Project and the Forum for Children Rights at Bhaskar Raopeta near Rajiv Gandhi Park in the city here on Wednesday. The school will be run by the Sahaaya Society.
Each student should strive to bring dropout childrento this school, said field officer Prasanna. Children play a key role in the development of the society, so they need to be educated, said Forum for Children’s Rights officer B.S. Koteswara Rao.
A meeting was held to increase the number of Anganwadi Centres, he said.
The Government has been introducing various schemes to educate children and the NCLP was among the one, henceall the child labourers can avail this opportunity to pursue education, said Forum convener P. John Raju. People may give the information about the dropout children over child line number- 1098, said Child Line city co-coordinator Arava Ramesh. District probation officer Krishna Veni, Sahayaa Society co-ordinator Syamala, teachers and others participated.
