Students’ Federation of India (SFI) city committee alleged that the officials of Education and Road Transport Departments virtually forced the managements of some private schools and colleges to provide their vehicles for moving people to the Chief Minister’s programmes at the Pulichintala project and in Vijayawada city on Saturday.
SFI city secretary T. Praveen told media persons that officials of Road Transport Department harassed the managements of private schools and colleges for getting vehicles arranged for the Chief Minister’s programmes while even teachers were put on that job.
‘A shame’“It is a shame that the private institutions were pestered by the district officials to declare holidays so that they can provide their vehicles for the Chief Minister’s programmes. Various problems faced by students and the educational institutions were not solved but the officials concerned were not hesitant to step out of their way to help the politicians in conducting the events at Pulichintala and in the city,” Mr. Praveen said, and warned that forcible shifting of people would be stopped by the SFI activists.
SFI city unit leaders K. Vasanth and Anjaneyulu were present.
