‘Scholars must be passionate about their work’

Research scholars must be passionate about their research work and they should focus on original investigation to reach the core of their study area, said Krishna University Vice-Chancellor V. Venkaiah, on Friday.

Addressing the valedictory session of a 10-day workshop on ‘Research Methodology Course in Social Sciences’ organised at PVP Siddhartha Institute of Technology for Ph. D scholars, Prof. Venkaiah said a scholar must not lose sight of honesty and integrity.

The event was sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR)- Southern Regional Centre (SRC).

Recalling his own research experiences in the past when it was difficult to collect data and process it, he said remaining unbiased and sticking to the prescribed methods of investigation was essential. Availability of sophisticated tools such as SPSS software had made the task of the current day research scholars easy, he added.

ICSSR-- SRC honorary Director C. Beena, Head of the Department of Business Administration, PVPSIT, P. Adilakshmi spoke. College Principal P. Venkateswarlu, was also present .
