SBH opens GM’s office in city

The State Bank of Hyderabad opened fourth of its General Manager’s office in the country in Vijayawada on Friday. The formality was done by the Chief General Manager of Reserve Bank of India Kaza Sudhakar at grand function at a hotel here.

The bank was trying to implement the ombudsman policy in toto and was making all efforts to bring down its non-performing assets and increase its profitability by improving the working efficiency of the banking staff and implementing the integration of technology to provide the best online services to the depositors, said bank Managing Director M. Bhagavantha Rao.

The general manager covers 479 branches of Warangal, Tirupati and Vizag Zonal Offices. The office now opened at Patamata will soon be shifted into a swanky premises, the MD added. With this people need not go to Hyderabad for every small work in the bank head office, he observed. The bank currently has GM’s offices in Mumbai, Bangalore, New Delhi and now in Vijayawada.

The total deposits this fiscal till September 12 amounted to Rs.16,900 crore and advances of Rs.11,155 crore. The bank also donated water purification plant to Madonna Special Institute for the Deaf in Vijayawada. General Manager J. Sithapathi Sarma was also present. He also visited the The Hindu Metro Plus Lifestyle Show on the PWD Grounds and went round their bank stall and The Hindu and other stalls.
