Even as the elected representatives from Telangana -- MPs, MLAs, and MLCs including Ministers are bracing themselves to tender resignation to their posts on Monday as part of their strategy to exert pressure on the high command and the Central government to announce separate statehood for Telengana, the anti-Telangana forum -- Samaikhya Andhra Parirakshana Samithi (SAPS) -- is now trying to turn the heat on the elected representatives in Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra to force them into playing a similar ‘resignation' card.
As a move to counter the ‘resignation' strategy being adopted by the Telangana leaders, the Samaikhya Andhra Parirakshana Samithi leadership has given a call to its elected representatives to tender resignation to their posts and put up a stiff resistance against the bifurcation of the State.
‘Counter separatists'
Representatives of the Samaikhya Andhra Parirakshana Samithi who met here on Sunday to discuss the situation arising out of the ‘resignation drama', also gave a call to the various professional bodies including student organisations to get into the fray and counter the attempts of the separatist forces to divide the State for their own narrow political and personal ends. Balasubramanyam and N. Raja Reddy, senior leaders of the SAPS, addressing the meeting gave a call to the cadres to lay siege to the residences of the Seemandhra elected representatives and not budge until they offered to resign and come out for a fight to protect the integrated Andhra Pradesh.
Among other leaders who spoke were N. Viswanadha Reddy, Tirumala Reddy, and K.V.Rathnam.
