The plight of residents in having to put up with stench and squalor of heaps of garbage lying unattended in colonies is likely to continue as over 1,000 contract workers have been on strike for the fourth consecutive day.
The workers led by their unions have been demanding that the tenders for hiring contract workers should be through nomination basis and not on the e-procurement as was being mooted by the Guntur Municipal Corporation.
