Elected representatives must raise their voice against bifurcation of State, they say
The protagonists of unified Andhra staged a dharna in front of Vijayawada (Central) MLA Malladi Vishnu's office on Besant Road demanding that elected representatives raise their voice against bifurcation of the State.
Samaikyandhra Samrakshana Samithi (SSS) leaders, on Thursday, urged the MLAs and MPs from the coastal Andhra to tender resignations, if need be, to keep the state united. They raised slogans against TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and in favour of unified Andhra.
Earlier, addressing a press conference, the SSS leaders N. Srihari, K. Ramesh and others said the YSR Congress Party should adopt a resolution in favour unified Andhra at its plenary to be held at Idupalapaya. Likewise, Praja Rajyam Party founder Chiranjeevi, who has been protagonist of united Andhra, should play a key role in unified Andhra struggle.
The TDP leader Nandamuri Harikrishna should take his father N. T. Rama Rao's aspiration of Samaikyandhra forward, they said. The Centre should not delete 14F clause in Presidential Order.
Hyderabad city should be reserved as free zone, and provide opportunities to work in police department in free zone from all other parts of the State, they opined.
The Samithi, at its emergency meeting, passed resolutions in this regard, they added. Samithi leaders K. Jayaraj, P. Srinvasa Rao, G. Madhavi Lata and others were present.
Meanwhile, the students of various colleges, including NRI College took out a rally to Bandar Road in the evening. They formed a human chain demanding the UPA government not to bifurcate state. They raised slogans in favour of unified Andhra. EOM
