The Krishna District Samaikyandhra Joint Action Committee has promised to take the current agitation to its logical conclusion by intensifying it further against the State government’s appeal to end the strike.
At a press conference here on Monday, the APNGOs Krishna JAC Chairman A. Vidyasagar told mediapersons that employees from 156 departments were participating in the agitation and unless they achieved a concrete assurance from the Union government that the State would not be divided, the stir would continue.

The Central government organisations like banks, income tax office, railway station and others would be targeted in the next two days on October 8 and 9 by ensuring their closure to gain support for the movement. On the 10, 11 and 12 MLAs from all the constituencies would be called to a public meeting and asked to take an oath to keep the State united by voting against the bill that would be referred to the State Assembly by the President of India.
The NGOs said that majority of the employees had taken loans from banks, but some of the APSRTC employees had not received them . However, some banks had come forward to lend money to the RTC employees, he said.
The NGOs appealed to the corporate educational institutions not to press for tuition fee for at least two months when the government employees did not receive salaries.
When asked why the government schools and colleges were being closed and private or aided ones being allowed to function, Mr. Vidyasagar said that they could take the matter to the State body and also appeal to the managements to shut them to be part of the movement.
Others who attended the press conference include APSRTC — JAC Chairman M.V. Prasad, M.D. Eswar, Katamraju, Velaga Joshi, D. Satyanarayana Reddy and M. Sambasiva Rao in addition to Mr. Prasad.
