Girl students from various colleges took out a procession under the aegis of the Samaikyandhra Students JAC and the Samaikya Youth Force here on Friday. At a time when the APNGOS and other people have fallen silent not agitating any more against the proposed division of the State, these students have shown will power to continue to fight.

Andhra Pradesh Intellectuals Forum president Chalasani Srinivas and Student JAC leader Devineni Avinash led the procession from Benz Circle to the Patamata Zilla Parishad High School.

The girl students raised slogans demanding that the process to bifurcate the state be scrapped immediately. Students have been turning up in large numbers for these rallies and demonstrations.

Meanwhile, the heads of educational institutions and faculty members from the 13 Seemandhra districts met here today. The speakers said that it was the students of Seemandhra that would suffer most if the state was bifurcated. There were over 1.5 crore students in these districts.

The students of the region would fight against the division of the State in a coordinated manner from October 18. The students from all the 13 districts would also attend the students’ meeting being held in Visakhapatnam on October 16. Former MLC Chigurupati Varaprasad, Chalasani Srinivas, MDVS Punnam Raju, Samuel and Narasimha Rao participated in the meeting.
