After a lull, Samaikyandhra Joint Action Committee (JAC) has decided to rev up the agitation as the constitutional procedure of bifurcation of the State is entering a decisive phase with the A.P Reorganisation Bill-2013 is expected to be tabled in Lok Sabha during the forthcoming session beginning on February 5.
Lavu Rathaiah, Chairman of Vignan Group, is taking the lead role this time drumming up support from other educational groups in coastal districts.
In a meeting held here on Monday, Dr. Rathaiah unveiled an action plan for the next 15 days. Beginning with a three-day `Samaikya 5-K Run,’ on February 9 in Guntur, Narasaraopet and Tenali, the agitation would be intensified with a watch night programme called `Jana Jagarana,’ and performing cultural programmes. Efforts will be made to mobilise one million people on February 9.
Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao said that he along with other MPs would fight it out on the floor of Lok Sabha against the T-Bill. Telugu Desam leader Kodela Siva Prasada Rao advised the JAC to form a non controversial core group comprising representatives from education, NGO, civic organisations and employees.
