Stringent action would be taken against the rythu bazar officers who failed to control the benami farmers, according to Joint Collector Gaurav Uppal.

The Joint Collector inspected the Swaraj Maidam rythu bazar here on Wednesday.

On the occasion, he said that the estate officers were transferred across the district with a view to provide quality services and vegetables at lowest prices at the rythu bazars. The estate officers were asked to be vigilant that benami farmers would not sell vegetables at the bazars. However, there were no positive results, he said, adding, the officers who derelict their duties would be suspended.

Urban tehsildar J. Srinivas, estate officers S. Karunakar, Ch. John Victor, and L. Balichakravathi were present.

The meeting of diet management committee was held here on Wednesday.
