The VGTM Urban Development Authority vice-chairman G.S.R.K.R. Vijay Kumar on Friday said that the farmers of Vedurupavuluru have come forward and offered 360 acres out of 900 acres towards the proposed Oryza Township which was coming up under private-public partnership.
The farmers had given a latter to the authority and efforts were on to obtain the remaining land.
“We have also held meetings with the farmers about the township. We will also go into land acquisition in case we need some more land,” he added.
“He said that proposed township would cover the areas of Ramavarapaddu, Vedurupavuluru and Nunna.
Meanwhile, the farmers of Ambapuram requested the District Collector to arrange for a meeting with UDA board and take a decision to set aside the notification regarding Ambapuram Township.
“Though the notification issued by the then District Collector of Krishna five years ago, it was set aside as per the orders of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Authority, Hyderabad. But as no announcement was made through media, the brokers are cheating the site owners saying that the notification was still valid,” said Mr. P. Koteswara Rao, president of the farmers forum – Maa Bhoomi.
