Run-away city girl found in Tirupati

May 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:00 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The missing case of a nine-year-old girl ended on a happy note as the girl was traced in Tirupati on Friday.

T. Durga Srivalli, a third standard student, run away from her house on May 20, after her father chided her over a small issue. According to police, the girl’s father, Sairam Krishna, beat his daughter for not closing the door of the house properly on Wednesday evening.

After a few hours, an angry Srivalli went out on the pretext of buying a milk packet and did not return. Parents, after searching for her in the locality, lodged a complaint with the Suryaraopet Police on Thursday. Police formed special teams and searched for the girl in city and the neighbouring districts, but in vain.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) L.K.V. Ranga Rao said the Tirupati Police found Srivalli loitering alone in the railway station there. After questioning her, the police there informed her parents. “A police team has been sent to Chittoor district to bring the girl back. She is safe,” said CI Ch. Ravikanth.
