RTC to run summer specials

Additional buses would be run to Bangaluru, Chennai, Tirupati and other destinations

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), Vijayawada Zone, will operate special buses at additional fare for summer vacations for the conveyance of passengers, said zone Executive Director M.S. Prakasha Rao.

Special buses will be arranged on 1.5 times fare to any place on demand and the commuters are requested to contact the nearest depot manager. Buses will also be arranged on hire basis for marriages and other occasions, said Mr. Rao.

Speaking to ‘The Hindu’ on Monday, the Executive Director said the Vijayawada Zone comprising of West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts will operate 27 additional buses from various destinations.

Additional services would be run from Tanuku, Eluru and Jangareddygudem to Hyderabad in West Godavari district. From Krishna district, buses would be run to Hyderabad from Gannavaram, Vijayawada and Vuyyuru.

Mr. Prakasha Rao said that additional services would be operated to Hyderabad from Guntur I and II depots, Mangalagiri and Pidiguralla depots. Additional services would also be run from Repalle, Tenali, Macherla and Vinukonda depots to Karampudi, Nalgonda, Markapuram, Addanki and other destinations.

On week ends, extra buses will be plied from Vijayawada and Guntur to Chennai, Tirupathi, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and also from Bhimavaram and other depots to other places depending on the demand, said Mr. Prakasha Rao.

Stating that RTC is the best transport mode for safe journey for the public, the Executive Director said advanced reservation system will be available at all the depots and APSRTC franchises, and appealed to the commuters to make use of the services of the Corporation.
