AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) authorities are all geared up to operate additional buses on the Hyderabad route on Thursday in view of the rail-roko protest called by the TRS Joint Action Committee (JAC).
Officials of the South Central Railways on Wednesday announced cancellation of 13 express trains and diversion of 11 trains besides rescheduling 10 trains.
In the absence of train services, travellers are bound to look for an alternative mode of journey and the RTC is ready to grab the opportunity.
“We have pooled up 50-odd buses. Depending on the situation tomorrow, we can divert more number of buses from our six depots in the city towards Hyderabad,” said G. Nagendra Prasad, deputy chief traffic manager (Urban).
The Vijayawada Railway division released numbers of BSNL and the railways (internal) telephone numbers to get information on the trains cancelled, rescheduled and diverted on Thursday in the wake of the rail roko.
Passengers should contact 0866-2576610, 2767233, 2767070 and 2767040 and railway internal phones 68121, 67233, 67070 and 67040 for information on train movements .
Additional refund counters have been opened at Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Kakinada town, Nellore, Guduru, Ongole and Tenali stations.
