To reduce waiting time for aspirants of a Learner's License (LLR), the local Road Transport Authority (RTA) has doubled the LLR test booking slots from the existing 72 to 144 daily.
“Earlier, people seeking LLR had to wait for about a month before taking the test for want of slots. As part of a State-wide phenomenon, we have increased the number of slots to spare the aspirants from the long wait,” said Deputy Transport Commissioner A. Mohan of Krishna region.
Those interested could take the test between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. daily on all working days. The additional slots were brought into effect last week.
He said that to enhance efficiency of the department, the Government had also decided to replace all the old computers with new ones. “This is to keep pace with the latest automation and network systems. The upgradation will take place wherever it is needed across the State,” he added. The move would improve efficiency of the department by 20 to 25 per cent, he opined.
