Assuring the public that no genuine ration card would be cancelled during the drive to cancel bogus cards, Animal Husbandry Minister K. Parthasarathy said that if any genuine beneficiaries lost their ration cards, they could bring the same to the notice of the Grama Sabha and get back their card, during the drive.
Participating in Prajapatham programme at Tadigadapa village on the city outskirts, Mr. Parthasarathy said that the programme was aimed at solving the local problems on the spot and taking up development works at the village level.
He said that Rs. 12 lakhs would be spent on developing Tadigadapa village and priority would be given to works like drinking water supply and addressing the low-voltage problem. He asked the officials to install 100 KV sub-station in the village within two weeks from now and the drinking water problem by spending Rs. 20 lakh within one month from now. Vice-chairperson of the Krishna Zilla Parishad T. Padmavathi, additional Joint Collector Shamsher Ahmed and others were present.
