Under Save Our Schools programme, four lakh benches will be distributed to the government schools in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

Save Our Schools, a brainchild of past district governor of Rotary International district 3150, has set an ambitious target of distributing four lakh school benches to the government schools across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, says chairman and past district governor of Rotary Club, Ravi Vadlamani.

Dr. Ravi said on Tuesday that the dream project supported by many countries has been a major change agent across government-run schools in rural areas fulfilling the universal goal of educating every child.

The programme was supported by the Rotary Club of Guntur, Rotary Club of St. Simons Island and Guntur Round Table.

On Thursday, 2,400 school benches (dual desks) would be distributed to government-run schools at a programme being held on the premises of Sri Mettu Kotireddy & Sons, opposite Iskcon Temple, at Mallareddy Nagar (behind Mahatma Gandhi College) with the support of RI district 6920 and the Rotary Foundation.

Minister for Agriculture P. Pulla Rao, Minister for Social Welfare R. Kishore Babu , MP Galla Jayadev and district governor of Rotary Ch. Hari Krishna would be present.
