Rich tributes were paid to actress Savitri here on Friday on the occasion of her death anniversary. Daughter Vijaya Chamundeswari, Telugu Association of North America former president Thotakura Prasad and others garlanded her statue at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in a programme organised by Mahanati Savitri Sahitya Samskrutika Kalapeetham.
On the occasion, Ms. Chamundeswari recalled the dedication with which her mother worked in the cinema field and also did social service to the needy. Ms. Savitri’s talent was phenomenal and contemporary artistes have a lot to learn from her discipline and commitment to her profession.
