A review meeting on arrangements being made for Dasara festivities has emphasised on quality of prasadam, and facilities for the devotees thronging the temple.

Secondary Education Minister K. Parthasarathy, Principal Secretary (Revenue) K. V. Ramna Chary reviewed the arrangements for the Dasara festival, here on Sunday.

On the occasion, the Minister and Dr. Ramana Chary said there were complaints about the quality of prasadam being distributed to devotees, and sold at the counters.

The Assistant Executive Officer (AEO) incharge of prasadam would be suspended, and the contractor would be black listed if it were not rectified in next two days, they said, adding, “The devotee satisfaction is our top priority.”

The temple has estimated that Rs. 2.15 crore would require for the festival, which would be organised in a much better way than previous years, the Minister said.

The temple would bear the cost of chappal and cloak rooms to be opened at bathing ghats, and important places like VMC office, Boddu bomma centre. The devotees need not pay a single paise to avail those services.

The other important decisions include: allowing of movement of people on retaining wall on ghat road after the temple engineers submitted a certificate.

Likewise, the electrical engineer from APSPDCL would have to certify that the lighting, wiring etc., works were up to the mark.

Mobile toilets

The VMC would have to provide mobile toilets near queue lines leading to the temple.

The VMC would also provide make shift toilets at bathing ghats. The irrigation department was asked to take up barricading at all five ghats, and Sri Durga Malleswara Swamivarla Devasthanam would provide necessary material for it.
