‘Retail industry in growth mode'

The retail sector in India has emerged as the most dynamic and fast growing market with several players entering it, said speakers at the management development programme (MDP) on “Retail Marketing” organised jointly by the Prasad V. Potluri Siddhartha Institute of Technology and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSME – Development Institute here on Monday.

Various resource persons spoke about ‘Retail industry in India -- future prospects and challenges, concepts of retail marketing and innovations, retail buyers and merchandising, role of sale manager, stores and warehouse management, supply chain distribution and logistics, FDI in retail sector, e-retailing and role of HR in retailing industry. The MSME Development Institute faculty member A. Sravani, Assistant Director M.V. Sudhir Kumar, Siddhartha Academy secretary Nalluri Venkateswarlu, PVPSIT P. Venkateswarlu and business administration department head P. Adi Lakshmi spoke.
